The lilypad islands are on the southwest of the playable map. *players may want to consider a base that. Best locations to build a base in subnautica.
Jellyshroom caves with lots of loot for you to build with, and an amazing view, this is a grat place. Add on a place for thermal power generators and you have a great base. The floating island the floating island has no predators.
What in your opinion is the best biome to build a base? Mine is the northern mushroom forest (the one with the huge tree. ) plenty of materials no preds good access to the lost river. I'm a little bitch so the main base is always in the safe shallows.
I will have small outposts placed in most other biomes though. In this subnautica video, we take a look at 2 really good base locations for beginners. Image via unknown worlds entertainment.
The consensus among players is that the best base location is in twisty bridges. Below zero in shallow twisty bridges. As soon as you enter your base for the first time, you'll notice that it lacks one important thing:
Powering your base will solve this problem, and there are quite a few different ways you can do so. These work best the closer they are to the surface. 4 iceberg base or delta island for solar power.
In the early game, one of the most reliable sources of power is solar power. This is obviously easier to harness if you build a base that is close to the surface of the water or on land entirely. There really is no best place.
Just make a personal decision based on your own criteria for convenience , aesthetic beauty, and space. I am built my first base by the life pod as it was the most convenient and i love the way the shallows around like pod five look. The cove tree one of the coolest places in the game!
Lots of materials, and close to the lava zone. No predators and a great view of the cove tree. Is very deep, so you need a cyclops or prawn to get there.
The floating island the floating island has no predators. It provides a nice place to build in, but has few materials. The shallows, the purple vents, and multiple kelp forests all border the twisty bridges.
While it is incredibly possible to build creative structures on flat land such as in the shallows, the twisty bridges offer a unique opportunity to build your base on. Not quite best first base material. But if you have yet to build anything at all, make at least some hallway tubes with storage lockers inside them near your lifepod to tide you over.
It will also mean you have a place to stash materials for when you do make a proper base somewhere. As for initial location, try to make it at least someplace. You should consider building a base on the border of the kelp forest and grassy plateaus because you can get plenty of metal salvage, stalker teeth and salt (if you need it) from the kelp forest, plus you can get plenty of limestone, sandstone, and quartz from the grassy plateaus.
There are plenty of these borders. Favorite place to build your main base. Roninzeta 3 years ago #1.
So, not an auxiliary base, like at the end of the lost river. Your true home away from home, the base where you spend the most time perfecting. I’m going to be boring and say, safe shallows, south of lifepod 5, near the thermal geyser at the edge of a few other biomes.
This location is basically the midpoint on the map from where you can access all the important quest locations around. In the tree spires biome, right next to the vent garden will be the best place to build your base. Yes, it is dangerous due to the creatures hanging out there.
And i said float ing islands, between the mountains and the dunes, south of the northern blood kelp zone. The floater island sits above the grand reef so there should be geothermal power on the seafloor there too. There really isn't anyplace suitable for a base on the island, terrain is too bumpy and trees everywhere.
