Muzzle brake reduces recoil for single fire. Surprisingly, all 3 attachments work fine on the mk17 but, as usual, the muzzle brake and flash hider work a little better. Choose between the mb and fh depending on whether you want less vertical or horizontal kick.

I retested all the barrel attach. Sorry this isn't really what you asked for, but rogue9 released a video about the new attachments. I might be wrong, but i think you want muzzle break on single fire weapons, compensator on things with a lot of horizontal recoil and flash hider on everything else, at least as a quick setup.
A weapon at the bottom of the barrel, the 1. 5 scope helps the ump perform better at long range. Attaching the flash hider and vertical grip should make the ump a little easier to use, reducing vertical recoil. As with most shotguns, adding a laser for better hipfire accuracy is your best option.
