It's a lot easier than destroying the boat and safer than killing the villager. You can get normal mobs out of a boat/minecart using a leash but you can't use the leash on villagers and neither you can fish them out. Registered user shared this idea.

For pc players, pressing the left shift button should do the trick. Playstation players can achieve so by pressing down the right analog. Xbox players can get out of the boat by pressing the right analog.
With pocket edition, the leave boat button is the command you’ll need. Finally, rs is how you jump off the boat for nintendo switch and wii. I always end up with sea turtles stuck in my boats and i always have to destroy the boat and place it again.
