The category animal contains all living organisms in the game except plants and persons. animals can be divided into huntable and accessory animals, the latter are purely aesthetic and serve no other purpose than increasing immersion into the world. They are also additionally categorized as immersion factor. huntable animals, on the other hand, can be. Chances are they upped the rate of 'rare's' and 'diamonds' due to the new trophy lodges and people wanting to fill them, or complaining they wasted their money!
That could be true. A little sad though since its a nice long term goal to work on with the new lodge to fill out.
